It’s been two-and-a-half years since I quit the newspaper biz to restart The Other Hudson Valley.
It’s been a labor of love, because, namely:
-I’m ecstatic about independent journalism, the Hudson Valley, and everything involved in this undertaking
and:
-I actually lose money on The Other Hudson Valley every month
…so, as much as I love bringing you guys the news, it is not sustainable.
And THAT’S when you hold a fundraiser.
Click here to sign up – the fête, which I’m billing as a “Launch Party/Fundraising Event,” includes farm-to-table fare from Ten Barn Farm in Ghent; tunes by New Paltz-based guitarist and composer Michael Hollis; a beer/wine bar; and, of course, a chance to meet me (I know you want to) as well as a second Hudson Valley journalist who will be writing for the site. How often will they be writing? – Well, that depends on how much I can raise to pay them.
The Event is being held on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Click here for details.
Entrance itself is free, so bring a friend!
